Animal Law Coalition

Works to stop animal cruelty and suffering through legislation, administrative agency action, and litigation. ALC offers legal analysis of the difficult and controversial issues relating to animals.

Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF)

The ALDF mission is to protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system through filing lawsuits, providing free legal assistance to prosecutors handling cruelty cases, working to strengthen state anti-cruelty statutes, encourage enforcement of existing animal protection laws, nurturing future of animal law through its Student Animal Legal Defense Fund chapters and Animal Law Program, and educating the public through seminars, workshops, and outreach efforts.

National District Attorneys Association: National Center for Prosecution of Animal Abuse
The National Center for Prosecution of Animal Abuse (NCPAA) is a program of the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA), created in partnership with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) to educate and train prosecutors and allied professionals on the effective handling of animal cruelty and neglect cases, including cases involving the co-occurrence of animal abuse and violence to people.

A national animal protection organization that researches and tracks incidents of criminal animal cruelty. The website includes a searchable animal abuse database with numerous links to data about animal abuse.  Among them: interactive maps allowing the public to view cases of animal abuse in their area; a convicted abuser search link that is used by humane societies, shelters and rescues across the country to search abusers by name; graphical statistics about animal cruelty and those committing it; a listing of all upcoming court dates for criminal animal cruelty cases in the database.
