Dan Donahue
Foreign & International Law Librarian
University of Houston Law Center
     Dan Donahue

Why did you join AALLc?
My former supervisor was a member and knew of my interest in international law, and invited me to join.
What do you do as a law librarian?
I assist law students, professors, and the public with legal research.  I occasionally teach an instructional session for law students or a CLE class for local alumni.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
Projects that involve researching issues I’d never heard about before.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
This may come as a surprise, given that I’m a professional librarian, but I enjoy reading.

What is your favorite travel destination (Asia or otherwise!)?
My most recent travel was to Hawaii, and it’s probably my favorite travel destination.  My last trip to Asia took me to Shanghai and Tokyo, and I had a great time in both cities.

What’s your favorite law-related book and why?
While law isn’t the main focus of the book, I recently read The Last Days of Night and enjoyed the (fictionalized) account of the origins of the modern law firm.
