I work with IT and with law. I've done both in separate bubbles, and I like to think that made for a deeper dive into each. I currently work at the state established central consortium for library technology services for the Florida university and community college systems. Most of what I do is learn different systems and provide support or outreach to libraries using those systems to run digital libraries. I also do back end things, which is very little coding and lots of scrubbing big sets of data and files and bringing them from older systems to current ones.
Previously, I worked at an academic law library as a reference librarian with responsibility for technology related tasks and web development. Before that, I worked as a lawyer for state government where I provided research to senior attorneys regarding federal audits and a variety of background tasks related to running a state agency - human resources issues, public records requests, management of records systems, audits on grants, and procurement issues.
