Charge:
Study the credentials and salaries of law librarians, including: the degrees needed for librarian positions, barriers to the profession due to required credentials, myths about law librarian credentials, and salary disparities among librarians and between librarians and other academic constituencies. Develop tools, publications, and programs for librarians seeking employment.
Project: Tips for Navigating the Hiring Seas of Academic Law Librarianship (published July 13, 2023) - This report provides guidance to colleagues who are searching for positions in academic law libraries. The report shares information to help candidates understand and utilize the AALL Biennial Salary Survey and other relevant data tools, as well as details pertaining to other factors to consider in the hiring process, such as faculty status, rank, and institutional benefits.
