Official Status

Supreme Court and Appellate Court Opinions are designated official. Statutes, Administrative Code, Register and Session Laws are not.

Authentication

Supreme Court Opinions and Appellate Court Opinions are authenticated. Statutes, Administrative Code, Register, and Session Laws are not authenticated.

Preservation

Supreme Court Opinions, Appellate Court opinions, Register, and Session Laws are preserved. Statutes are not.

Permanent Public Access

UELMA legislation implemented as of January 1, 2015 guarantees permanent public access for official documents in electronic form.  Permanent public access for electronic documents that are not official is not guaranteed.  The only official documents at this time are Supreme Court and Appellate Court Opinions.
